glow up // creating an EXCITING fitness routine

For a lot of people the words ‘exciting’ and ‘work out’ don’t belong in the same sentence, but if you want to be one of those people who does get excited I’ve got some tips for you. Today’s post is a collaboration with my friend Faith who has been my work out buddy over the last couple of years while I lived in New York. She recently received her NASM certification AND launched a fitness Instagram (@thesweatycoconut) so I figured she’d be the perfect person to help get people excited!

hey y’all!

I’m going to mixing things up around here and decided to go ahead and get the party started today with a fun work out game I made for myself.* I absolutely love working out now, but I didn’t become ‘fit’ or active until my freshman year of college. Between my freshman and sophomore year I actuallyย lost about 20 pounds instead of gaining the ‘freshman 15’! I’ll talk more about that on another date. Today I wanted to share a really fun work out, of sorts, I created to mix things up. For the first time in over 3 years I have cable and for the first time in ever I’ve been watching The Bachelorette. As a fellow black chick I wanted to watch to support Rachel and support all black women in mainstream media. The more support we have, the more we can have diversified representations for people of all ethnicities and backgrounds!
